Cifonelli opens a private mansion in Paris

Cifonelli announces the opening of its new boutique in Paris, in the Hôtel particulier located at 35 rue François1er, in the eighth arrondissement. The new Cifonelli space covers 300 square meters on two floors. The façade, in Saint-Maximin stone, features ten windows and three attics. The mansion has five levels. The majestic entrance door (surrounded by a neo-Roman portico) and the bronze interior staircase were created by Ateliers Bataillard, based on a design by photographer and interior architect Alberto Pinto (1943 - 2012). Elliott Barnes advised on the boutique's decoration. His approach lies in a discreet and elegant handling of unexpected and noble materials, giving unique and exclusive spaces a refreshing vision of luxury. Elliott Barnes comments, "For this new address for the most elegant tailor, I approached my intervention with a restraint that gives pride of place to Cifonelli, a refined showcase for the house."

This new address has a rich history. In the 1930s, it was the home of Radio 37, a privately-owned general-interest radio station broadcasting in the Paris region. During the second half of the 20th century, the mansion became home to three major Parisian fashion houses.

Today, 35 rue François1er provides access to two of the three lines of the Cifonelli universe: ready-to-wear and made-to-measure, both produced with the same attention to detail and care in the choice of materials as couture. The third line, couture, is still based in the historic workshops at 31 rue Marbeuf, one hundred and fifty meters from 35 rue François1er. The made-to-measure line, which has its own dedicated space, enables customers to have all the pieces in their wardrobe - suits, jackets, pants, shirts and a few knitwear items - made to their own taste and measurements, within a lead time of between four and six weeks. Among the emblematic products of Cifonelli's ready-to-wear line, the boutique features the "Six by One" low-cut single-breasted blazer, the three-piece suit with double-breasted vest, and a number of iconic jackets taken directly from the couture line, such as the "Travel Jacket", the "Piemont Jacket" and the "Lorenzo Jacket".
